Into the Archives - The Photo That I Love to Hate

The more photos that you take the more you learn. Today I was looking for a different shot but since my filing system is an absolute mess I couldn't find what I was looking for and came across this one. This is one of my absolute favorite shots. However, it's an absolute mess of over-processed noise. To be fair to my lack of skill at the time, there is one color print out there that sold at a fund raiser for a respectable amount. The print wasn't bad. It's a favorite for the sole reason that it brings back the day. It was right before Halloween on a Sunday. The clouds were perfect and the air was crisp. You could almost smell an apple pie baking in the oven. Everything that I love about it here was on full display that day. The black and white version seemed to work a little better but my preference is the color version even with all of its faults. I bring this photo out every few months and try to 'fix' it. Maybe someday I'll succeed. Until then I need to stop being lazy go back to the location and take another set of photos and since this is only a few minutes from my house I'm going to do that tomorrow.
