The Archives - 2017 - Demo Day

It's not too often that I get a chance to document a demolition. I had squirreled these away back in 2017 when my old alma mater was pummeled into dust. As I understand it some former students were able to go inside prior to demolition but I missed the announcement and my chance at any inside photos. For the most part I remember a depressing cafeteria next to the shop teacher's classroom in the basement and what we used to call the 'stairs of death' as they had been worn so smooth over the years that at least one person per quarter wiped out on them as we rushed to class and got to the first floor the hard way. Safety first! The outside was much more attractive than the inside. However, in some ways I miss it. After going through the series I decided to work on all of photos as the place did have a certain personality to it. I had the absolute wrong lens with me at the time but now I think it may have worked to my advantage.
